The girl in the painting has regret over self-incapacitation which is represented by her being trapped inside more than one tree. Every tree represents a situation or occasion where we don’t have the courage to act because we are too afraid of the possible outcome and through that, life passes us by. We look back later and realise the impact of our self-inflicted incapacitation.

Das Bild zeigt den Moment des Zurückblickens zu Situationen, in denen man nicht gehandelt hat, wenn es angebracht gewesen wäre. Jeder Baum symbolisiert einen Moment im Leben, in dem man auf diese Weise ‘feststeckt’.

Left painting: Based on the Cherokee legend of the fight between the two wolves inside of you. The good wolf represents all good and the bad wolf all bad characteristics. Which wolf will you feed?

Linkes Bild: Aufbauend auf der Cherokee-Legende von den zwei Wölfen, die in dir kämpfen. Der weiße Wolf steht für alle guten Eigenschaften, der schwarze für die schlechten. Welchen Wolf wirst du füttern?

Right painting: Being human, we’re not likely to succeed in only feeding one wolf, at the end of the day it is about finding a good balance.

Rechtes Bild: Weil wir nur Menschen sind, ist es unmöglich, nur einen Wolf zu füttern. Am Ende geht es darum, eine gute Balance zu finden.

An opposing view to the concept of the painting Regret. In that moment when your fear traps you (represented by you being trapped inside a tree), the tree can also be your safe-place or sanctuary.

Ein gegensätzlicher Blick auf das Konzept des Gemäldes Regret. In dem Moment, wenn man von seiner Angst eingeschnürt wird (repräsentiert von dem Eingeschlossensein in einem Baum), kann der Baum auch ein Ort der Sicherheit oder Zuflucht sein.

Red is an interpretation of Little Red Riding Hood. Apart from the wolf-eyes that are clear to see, the woods are full of animals hidden in the negative spaces. The situation represents the scenario where, when you try to escape from the bad, you also have to deal with the good that you’re leaving behind

Red ist eine Interpretation von Rotkäppchen. Neben den Wolfsaugen, die klar zu erkennen sind, sind noch eine Menge weiterer Tiere im negativen Raum versteckt. Die Situation stellt das Szenario dar, dass man, wenn man vor dem Bösen flüchtet auch Gutes zurück lässt.
