Series of six paintings, based on the Sioux belief that the pipe represents creation. The stem stands for the male and the animal world. The chamber represents the female and plant world. The smoke leaving the pipe is the prayer to the gods. Death completes the cycle. A big pipe flows through five of the paintings. The sixth painting contains all of the single pieces of this pipe and can stand in for every one of the five other paintings.

Reihe aus sechs Gemälden, die auf dem Sioux-Glauben basieren, dass die Pfeife die Schöpfung symbolisiert. Demnach repräsentiert das Mundstück die männliche und die Tierwelt, während die Brennkammer die Frauen- sowie die Pflanzenwelt darstellt. Der Rauch, der aus der Pfeife kommt steht für das Gebet zu den Göttern. Der Tod vervollständigt den Zyklus. Durch 5 Gemälde zieht sich eine Pfeife, während das sechste alle Einzelstücke dieser Pfeife in sich aufnimmt und somit jedes der fünf anderen Gemälde ersetzen kann.
