Telling Time

Telling Time

[siteorigin_widget class=”SiteOrigin_Widget_Image_Widget”][/siteorigin_widget]

Past. Present. Future.

Telling Time. The journey, whether the life cycle of a human being or the much shorter, no less perfect life cycle of a butterfly, is a labyrinth leading us to now. The moment of now is a gentle eye that looks at us hoping that we will notice.

Vergangenheit. Gegenwart. Zukunft.

One Sky with a Dominant Heart Line

One Sky with a Dominant Heart Line

[siteorigin_widget class=”SiteOrigin_Widget_Image_Widget”][/siteorigin_widget]

Built with a collage of sky pictures from around the world. In palmistry, the lines on the palm of one’s non-dominant hand, stand for one’s inheritance. When I look up at the sky, I can’t help but think of the world as our inheritance and the sky as proof that borders are man-made.

My sky, is your sky, is her sky, is his sky.

Pipes

Pipes

[siteorigin_widget class=”SiteOrigin_Widget_Image_Widget”][/siteorigin_widget]

Series of six paintings, based on the Sioux belief that the pipe represents creation. The stem stands for the male and the animal world. The chamber represents the female and plant world. The smoke leaving the pipe is the prayer to the gods. Death completes the cycle. A big pipe flows through five of the paintings. The sixth painting contains all of the single pieces of this pipe and can stand in for every one of the five other paintings.
